Denim, Masks, new Mate and other Milestones
Everything is now returning to normal.
Meredith’s murderer –Rudi Guede– staying where he is supposed to stay: in jail (and getting, possibly, 6 well deserved more years). Amanda, living her life as a normal teen (trying to, at least). The paparazzi stalking people (hiding around Amanda’s house and chasing her). The tabloids buying pictures, lecturing about dresses, talking about who resembles to whom, about couples, flirts, sex… Being, in one word, tabloids.
Tabloids, glossy magazines, gossip websites are at it again: making up news and interviews, recycling old news, performing chip humor and then even copying from each other such great work…
Some “revealed” that Meredith’s family was going to sue Amanda (but if she was acquitted!), some “discovered” Amanda’s diary, or that old letter from the jail already published nearly 4 years ago; some even Meredith’s music video…
Nothing new, it’s the press baby, or better: the out-of-control media of our own little, capitalistic society.
Nothing strange, they are finally being on their own terrain, which wasn’t, it couldn’t be, the comprehension of a judicial case.
Not a surprise that most active on the new deal of the Knox story are websites that have been completely absent from the case, names never heard before…
What their next “scoop” will be? Coming to know if Amanda and Raffaele communicate (why shouldn’t they?). Or if he is going for Christmas, or before Christmas, or after Christmas? Or who holds Amanda’s hand in the park?
We are on the case since day one and we don’t give a damn. But those strangers seem to even want to enter into bed with Amanda and whoever will be the lucky guy.
What about minding your own business? (Actually one of those websites is so seriously called International Business Time… But their “trading analysis” are about a girl…).
By looking at the comments under those masterpieces it looks like even their own readers are annoyed, imagine Amanda. It must be a constant nuisance for her, even though, compared to what she is been going through during a 4 years long nightmare, she could call all this a paradise…
We have seen that the problem for the great analysts has been first if it was legit wearing a denim jacket with denim pants. More recently if Amanda was allowed to go to a Halloween party and how to dress for it… Or if she can go to the gym, or have a boyfriend…
And they are right: what should we do with this girl? She goes out and she doesn’t even call the Stir (?), or the TMZ (?), the INF-Today (?), or the Christian Post (???), or the International Business Time (!!!) to ask permission about how to dress, how to walk, when to party, who to mate, where to go…
Hope tomorrow she dresses as a murderer and bears a 17 inch knife in her hand so that she’ll send nuts all the TMZ, or ZTM, or Zzz, or the Stick, the (Not Too) Christian Pest, the (DIS)INF-Today, the International Business (of the others) Time and all of her stalkers…

Ha! Exactly. It has been pathetic reading about all these people trying to make up something interesting about a normal girl trying to recover and live her life after being persecuted for four years, and feeling like they can pick her apart and criticize her indefinitely. I really feel ill to think about the Kercher family and how they have made criticizing, warning and basically dragging her name through the mud their main past time. She can’t wear a Halloween costume, she can’t smile or act happy, she must do what they want, they wont take her money. Blah Blah Blah. I am sure that Meredith would be very sad to see so much wasted negative energy spent on her friend and room-mate who was persecuted for 4 years for a crime she had nothing to do with. Very sad. Of course who knows what the truth is since people seem to love most of all to make up stupid shit.
And what’s the word in Perugia Frank? Has it all been forgotten? Time to bury the hatchet and forget about all the abuses of power?
Yes, such a relief to hear all the drivel out in the press and blogosphere called drivel in Frank’s un–imitatable way.
I also am not at all impressed with the Kercher’s so called dignified behaviour.
Its not dignified behaviour to constantly criticize in the press a now proven innocent person, as John Kercher does. Nor is it dignified not to dig deeper into the truth of what happened to Meredith and instead cling to what has now been officially discredited.

The press that stalked her character for so long continues to do so. But, in case they missed it, she was aquitted! They lose, Amanda wins

That sounds like a crazy stalker. ‘Supporters’ need to stop bothering them eventually also. They don’t need people ‘supporting’ them all their lives. Eventually everyone will need to let go and let them live their lives alone and in peace. It will do them harm for people to continue on obsessing, tweeting, posting and discussing them and their case. It doesn’t matter if they believe their intentions are good ones.
There is a huge difference between stalking and supporting. They do need our support. You must be the person stalking me on twitter. Nice try, but go stalk someone else. As long as there are threats and lies being circulated and beyond that, some of us will continue supporting them.
Ahhh zooks1… I think the quote you use above, is separated from the context and misses the point. The poster was decrying the press and pathetic people who have a desire to continue a harassment against Amanda. The poster is expressing support for AK and RS in the hopes that they may someday have the normal everyday life that they deserve to have.
For now these two do need continued support since they have huge debts caused by an unjust and unfair prosecution. They are also in danger due to a nutty fringe of haters who will never look at the facts of the case and who suffer some mental defect reflected by the onslaught of hate filled speech long after the court found them innocent of the alleged crimes. The judge went further and proclaimed they were innocent because they did not commit the crimes. Which is a higher standard than innocent because of reasonable doubt.
Supporters are still necessary to be able to refute the constant lies by revealing the flaws in their arguments. The press to a large degree still doesn’t have a clue about the truth and the case is not final until the Italian Supreme Court confirms the appeal decision.
I agree that at some point the world needs to let AK and RS alone…and I certainly agree that the stalkers should be reined in. There remains however understandable and real concern as several haters from the guilt sites live and work very near to Amandas home.
These names have been published and are known… so hopefully the police and FBI can keep a watch on these nut jobs. Until they understand completely that Amanda has a right to a safe and normal life and that they must desist in these continued campaigns against her then she will need some amount of support.
You understand right? Someone must point out to police and the public that Peggy Ganong is the owner of a hate site named PMF and that Randy Jackson is a professor at UW and also a member and moderator of that site… that these two people live very near Amanda is important and that information should spread as publicly as possible.
Its not just about slander and annoyance but the guilt obsessed may pose a real physical danger to someone who deserves none of it.

Is this text in English in the book or you translated it?
I believe the book and story are written in Italian but there is an English translation available on amazon.com. I quoted from the English translation. There are other interesting passages on photographs in the story.
There seems to be a mini-industry of BS creators trying to manufacture/recycle stories about Amanda, Rafaela, and the Kerchers. Once the 12 million dollar lawsuit story collapsed, I knew that even quotes attributed to the Kerchers were highly suspect. My favorite story was a made up from supposed comments made by Rafaela at a restaurant. The story was recycled by Barbie Nadeau but once ABC news exposed it as a likely fake it disappeared from the TDBeast website. Now it won’t come up even if you query her name in the search field.
At this point I have to ask questions to the forum related to the economics of the situation:
Are people who write for, say TheDailyBeast, paid as a function of:
a) How many hits to the article’s link?
b) How many people comment on the article?
Does it matter if the comments are critical of the article? If you wrote an article that had 10 positive comments and another article with 100 negative comments would the system reward the article with 100 negative comments?
Bottom line: Am I actually encouraging bad behavior by commenting (i.e criticizing) these types of articles or (worse) responding to other commenters?

Rudy where he belongs… so true, but unless Raffaeles lawyer wins the defamation charges Rudy will be out too soon. Maybe Maresca will defend Rudy in that case too? Migninni can make a deal with Rudy, (or maybe in MIgninni’s favor Rudy outwitted the prosecutor? Maybe Rudy exploited Migninni’s tunnel vision, maybe Rudy out smarted all the police and Maresca?)
