EVEN THE SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE AGAINST AMANDA KNOX AND RAFFAELE SOLLECITO COLLAPSES

JUST DEPOSITED. He took the honor

With a 146 pages study, court appointed experts Stefano Conti and Carla Vecchiotti have referred about the DNA on knife and bra clasp. They defined Meredith’s DNA on the blade SCIENTIFICALLY UNRELIABLE.

The conclusions about knife and bra clasp:

EXHIBIT 36 (KNIFE)

TRACE ‘A’ (handle of the knife).

The profile is correctly attributed to Knox Amanda Marie.

TRACE ‘B’ (profile attributed to Meredith Kercher).

1-It’s not proven that the trace was blood.
2-It was a Low Copy Number and it should have been treated according to the recommendations indicated by the scientific community.

3-Because the operating standards indicated by the scientific community haven’t been followed the profile can’t be attributed to Meredith Kercher.

4-The collecting, the handling and the recording of the exhibit didn’t follow the international protocols.

5-It can’t be ruled out that the profile of the trace B may result from a contamination occurred in any phase: collecting, manipulating or during the analysis.

EXHIBIT 165B (BRA CLASP)

The results obtained are NOT RELIABLE for the following reasons:

1-There aren’t elements which can scientifically prove the presence of presumed skin cells on the exhibit.
2-The electroforetic curve of the autosomic STRs [the DNA profile, partially attributed to Raffaele Sollecito], was wrongly interpreted.
3-The electroforetic curve of the Y-chromosome [attributed solely to Raffaele Sollecito] was wrongly interpreted.
4-The international procedures for inspection, collecting and recording of the exhibit haven’t been followed.
5-It can’t be ruled out that the result may come from phenomenons of contamination occurred in any phase: collecting, manipulating or during the analysis.

NOW WE CAN SAY IT: ‘CASO CHIUSO’

In other words it’s official: there’s no Meredith’s DNA on the knife, there’s no Raffaele’s DNA on the bra clasp.

In next hearing, July 25, Stefanoni will defend the results obtained, with the help of prof. Giuseppe Novelli (yes, the one I had suggested to Knox family was hired by Mignini…) and prof. Francesca Torricelli, consultant for Maresca.

This time Stefanoni will be allowed to pose directly questions to Conti & Vecchiotti. It will be her attempt to defend what exist on that knife and bra clasp: NOTHING.
Will the defense file a request of freedom after the discussion? I would file it tomorrow…

Amanda came to know through the news and, according to the jail chaplain, don Saulo, who saw her, she was very happy.

Raffaele, who shares the cell with a Filipino, had the TV broken. His lawyer Luca Maori sent him a telegram with the good news.

I’m sorry Patrizia, I knew it would have been all your fault in the end…
‘They’ are like this, they ruin everyone… witnesses, suspects, victims, judges, scientists…

    • Frank,
“they ruin everyone… witnesses, suspects, victims, judges, scientists…” speaking of which, (but changing the topic slightly), how has the Scazzi case (which you wrote about last year) come to this(see below)?! Now not only the niece but the wife, along with a host of others, are now the prime suspects? What about Michele, who first confessed (to being solely responsible for the murder and defilement) and led the investigators to the body? Is he now being considered only an accesory?!:

INVESTIGATORS, SCAZZI KILLED BY SABRINA AND COSIMA MISSERI
      Condividi
      18:45 01 LUG 2011

(AGI) Taranto – Michele Misseri, his wife Cosima and their daughter Sabrina are all under investigation for Sarah Scazzi’s murder. Several other people are also under investigation for the murder of Sarah Scazzi on August 26 2010. They are: Carmine Misseri, Cosimo Cosma, Gianluca Mongelli, Vito ‘junior’ Russo (who, at the beginning of the investigations, acted as a defence lawyer for Sabrina Misseri), Emilia Velletri (Russo’s wife and a lawyer herself who also acted as a defence lawyer for Sabrina Misseri), Giovanni Buccoliero, Anna Scredo, Antonio Colazzo, Cosima Prudenzano, Francesco De Cristofaro, Giuseppe Nigro e Michele Galasso. In particular, Cosima Serrano and Sabrina Misseri are accused of “depriving Sarah Scazzi of her freedom forcing her in a threatening tone, after pulling her by the hair, to get into Serrano’s car, driving her to their home against the minor’s own will, and causing her death by strangling her with a belt”. . .

Yes, yes, YES!!! Finally, a bit of sanity in the courtroom.

Thanks Frank — and thank you Stefano Conti and Carla Vecchiotti.

  3. bmnyc says:

Frank, Thanks for putting your neck on the line to bring us the honest reporting that made us all think. I am sorry for all your troubles in doing so… I just hope all your troubles are sorted out and those responsible are held accountable. Do you think “M” will get a pass once again in this trial?

  4. struoc says:

I wonder what the last Massei jurors would think now….

Can the jurors even speak out without being charged by Mignini and Maresca?

  5. Love the new blog, Frank. Perugia Shock is back and better than ever. This is a great day and thanks so much for explaining the science.

  6. randy2438 says:

    Frank,

Are you nuts? No one did anything to Stefanoni. She is the police. She did it to herself by trying to play policeman insted of just staying in her lab.

In fact I hope they throw her ass in jail because that’s where it belongs. Her felony was revealed when she tried to hide the electronic data files from the defence and the court experts both.

Maybe the police planted this dna but any honest scientist would have found the same result as the experts (and the rest of the worlds scientists) did.

Face it she is and has always been an attack dog of Mignini…just another pack member.

Your feelings are blinding your reporting Frank. Stefanoni is a dirty cop…Nara Capezzali is a Quintinvalle like witness. Unreliable and useless to this case. She is dishonest, no matter what you think.

    • pigsticker says:

Actually, if anyone ruined Stefanoni’s life it was Giobbi and Mignini, who ordered her to conjure up whatever evidence she could against Amanda and Raffaele. Let’s hold the dictators accountable too.

  7. randy2438 says:

And yes the defendants should at least be released to house arrest tomorrow. There is nothing that links them to this crime anymore. It is inhuman to keep them locked up even one more day. Hopefully these lame lawyers will get up off their asses and file for immediate release.

  8. syftesfel says:

Is there any reasonable chance that Patrizia Stefanoni will be charged over this? (as she should) Will her past work also be examined?

This could be another case like that of the now-discredited Canadian forensics expert Dr Charles Smith.

  9. Adam Lane says:

Frank is a hero; Patrizia, a zero

  10. sammyod101 says:

This just proves what people with a shred of common sense have always known, I have read the book Murder In Italy and have also followed this blog and others related to this case and I really can’t believe a country in the western world could could treat two students from respectful families like they would treat members of the mafia, If they are not released when this appeal hearing is finished then i really believe that the italian and even the american government should step in because if they uphold the punishment then it would be obvious that this small town can’t handle such a case!! The Prosecutors in the first trial had no evidence what so ever and i would even go as far to say the evidence presented in the court room was MADE to fit the case against Amanda & Raffaele. Frank i think the work you have done is amazing you have given the facts and nothing more.

    Thank you

  11. Ligia Kasten says:

Lots of respect and admiration for the work you have done Frank. Many have critized you. Some because they hate and others because they envy. Others have said your not even a journalist. I don’t know if you are or not, but you sure have done a heck of an amazing job as a journalist/investigator that no other journalist on this case has achieved. You have had many obstacles to overcome but you were always there writing about this case no matter what. You deserve more credit for your contribution, efforts, time, and who knows how much you have had to spend to deliver all the excellent articles you have written. Above all, you made a great contribution to letting the truth be known. Your work opened the path for truth and protest about such unbelievable injustice. Many sharks are out there reaping what you have sowed and getting all the credit. But your readers know what you have done and how you have made a priceless contribution to getting the truth out and helping Amanda and Rafaelle. I have great admiration for your work and for one other person who has also done a great job, Mark Waterbury. Thanks to you and thanks to Mark Waterbury for you invaluable contribution to helping set free Amanda Knox. You pathed the way. Integrity, goodness and truth always payback.
